Mrs. Esther Ethel Gibson Massaquoi
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the Gibson, Massaquoi, Pritchard, White, Blake, Johns, Porte, Hoff and Goodridge families announce the death of our sister, niece, aunt, and cousin, Mrs. Esther Ethel Gibson Massaquoi. This sad event occurred in Monrovia, Liberia on Tuesday, January 19, 2016.
She was affectionately called “Miss Gib”, Aunty Esther or Sister Esther by her family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Hon. Arthur Momolu Massaquoi, her parents, General John C. A. Gibson II and Mrs. Sarah Blake Gibson, her siblings, Elizabeth P. Gibson Coleman, Counselor Julia Frances Gibson, and H. Magdalene Gibson. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her brothers, Bernard A. Gibson (Gaynor), and John C. A. Gibson III, one sister, Counselor Sarah Johnette Gibson, her aunt, Mrs. Emily Gibson Parsons, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends in Liberia, the U.S., United Kingdom, and other parts of the world. We have the blessed hope that Miss Gib, Aunty Esther, Sister Esther is in a better place.
Funeral arrangements
Removal from the Stryker Funeral Home: February 19th at 5pm. The body will be taken to the St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Camp Johnson Road for wake-keeping
Wake-Keeping: February 19, 2016 - 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm - St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Camp Johnson Road
Funeral Service: February 20th, 2016 at 10am - St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Camp Johnson Road
Interment will take place at Kaiser Memorial Lawn Cemetery
