Mrs. Rachel Emily Pearce Marshall
The Marshall, Pearce and Richardson families announce with profound regret the home-going of Mrs. Rachel Emily Pearce-Marshall, widow of the late Dr. Surgeon-General Robert C. D. Marshall, which mournful event occurred on March 13, 2012 at her residence in Sinkor, Monrovia, Liberia. The late Mrs. Marshall was a pioneer and an icon in the public health sector of Liberia, a humanitarian and a devout Christian.
The late Mrs. Marshall is survived by three biological children and one stepson: Marie E. Marshall-Browne, Dr. Roseda Marshall-Ochillo, Rupel E. Marshall, Sr. and Morris Cooper-Marshall; her siblings including two foster sisters: Oretha Caroline Pearce, Samuel Pearce, Julius Pearce, Nona Pearce-Jubwe, Lucy Pearce-Teah, D. Jonathan Pearce, Anna Thompson and Angeline Mulbah. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Janet Omolara Tayki, Dr. Aminatu Shehu-Browne, Rochelline Ekundayo Davies, Dr. Rupel E. Marshall, Jr., Robert C. D. Marshall, II; Frederick A. Marshall and Ade Daniel Pearce-Marshall; nine great grand children: Karwee Marshall, Emeril Olufemi Abioseh Marshall, Josiah Theophilus Marshall, Gabrielle Marshall, Kali Ayoka Shehu Brown, Geneva Erin Marshall, Rupel E. Marshall, III; Roberta Jedidah Marshall, Elijah Chisom Marshall; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life is as follows:
Removal from Stryker Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 5:00 p.m.
Vigil: Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at starting at 7:00 p.m. at St. Stephen Episcopal Church in Sinkor, 10th Street and Cheeseman Avenue
Home-going Services on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, St. Stephen's Episcopal Church commencing at 10:00A.M.
Interment shall take place at the family cemetery in the Township of Virginia
Repast shall be at the family estate in the Township of Virginia immediately following the interment
The family request that all tributes be delivered at the Vigil except those of the Government of Liberia, the Ministry of Health & Social Welfare, the Liberian Nursing Association and the family.
