Austin Sekou Karneh
The Karneh family of Kpeneji, Garwular District, Grand Cape Mount County and the United States of America is saddened to announce the sudden death of Austin Sekou Karneh. Mr. Karneh passed on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 in New York City after a brief illness.
He was predeceased by his parents: Alhaji Foley Karneh and Ma Maima Seimavulla. He is survived by five children: Ernest Karneh, Bessie M. Karneh, Weyata Karneh Linder, George Karneh and Jamie (Momo) Booker, and his wife, Mrs. Joyce Karneh, including numerous sisters, brothers and cousins in both Liberia and the United States.
Austin was a longtime resident of Staten Island.
Meanwhile, the family wishes to express its thanks and appreciation to his friends and family members who graciously contributed to his burial on August 13, 2020 on Staten Island.
The family also acknowledges with gratitude the numerous phone calls from friends and distant family members expressing their condolences over the loss of Austin, and who could not attend the funeral due to the Covid-19 restrictions.
The funeral services were held at the Scamardella Funeral Home and interred at the Silver Lake Cemetery.
