Mr. John G. Kar, Sr.
With thanksgivings in our hearts and acknowledgement of God’s grace and mercies, we, the children, announce the home going of our father, grand, and great grandfather, uncle, nephew, cousin, and father-in-law, Mr. John G. Kar, Sr. of Frehla, Bong County, Liberia. He made his transition at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Monrovia, Liberia on Sunday, January 10, 2016, more than a century after his birth.
To cherish his memories and continue his legacy, Oldman Kar left his children, friends and loved ones. His children in Liberia include Abraham Kar, Sr (Famatta), Boikai Kar-Sanoe, Sarah Kar, Tom Kar, Jerry Kerkula, Josephine Kerkula, Keturah Kerkula, and Faith Sawgaie. His children in the United States include: J. Manston Kerkula (Massa), Adam Kar (Edith), Georgia Kar-Kokeh, Delia Kema Kar-Diggs (Sayeh), Sayou Kar-Karmue (Thomas), Betty Kar-Ciapha (Matther), Mary Kar, Annie Kar Zayzay (Boikai), John Kar, Jr. (Winifred), Massa Kar-Doe (James), Annie Togbassi, and Esther Gaye (John), Thomas Sawgaie (Edith), Christine Kar-Gaie (Headriff).
Oldman Kar was predeceased recently by two of his sons and his daughter in law: Preston M. Kar, Sr. (Eleanor), Aries Kar (Patricia), and Bindu Sanoe (Boikai). Grandpa, as he was also lovingly called by his grandchildren, left 81 Children, grand, and great grandchildren to cherish memories of him. A host of brothers, uncles, nephews, cousins, nieces, organizations and church members, along with friends and loved ones, will always cherish memories of him.

A celebration remembering our father will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 537 Grove Street, Irvington, New Jersey, 07111 from 6PM to 2 A.M. Entrance to the hall and parking is on Smelley Terrace.
Liberia:
Wake Keeping & A Grand Celebration will be held in Frehla, Bong County, on Friday, January 29, 2016 starting at 7 P.M.
Funeral Service will be held at the Frehla Church of Christ, Frehla, Bong County, Liberia.
