Labor to Rest
With
profound sadness, the Jorkey, Dixon, Krangar,
Goodlin, Mills, and Johnson families announce
the home going of our beloved one Mr. Anthony
T. Jorkey, Sr. This sad event occurred on February
3, 2010 at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital
in Monrovia, Liberia.
He
leaves to mourn:
His loving wife of forty-four years, Mrs. Eva
C. Dixon Jorkey. His children, Anthony Jorkey,
Jr. (Emily), Angeline Jorkey, Eric Jorkey (Victoria),
Miata Kamara Mamu (Jacob), and Genneh Jorkey
Bartie (Boymah). His foster children Robert
Yarngo, Matilda Dixon Carr (Elton), and Daniel
Wilson. Thirty-three grandchildren and seven
great-grandchildren. His sisters Bendu and Jartu
and his brother Saturday Jorkey along with several
nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives
and friends in the USA and Liberia.
He was employed at the Bank of Monrovia and
the Commercial Bank for many years and later
worked at the Forestry Development Authority
until his retirement in 1998.
