 Ethel Matilda Kennedy-Johnson
The Johnson and Kennedy families give thanks to God in gratitude for the peaceful emancipation of our sister, Aunt, mother and grandmother, Ethel Matilda Kennedy-Johnson. Affectionately known as “We-wee". She fought the good fight with all her might. We prayed for her to stay, and God answered, but He answered in his own way. He took her home to rest.
Ethel Matilda Kennedy-Johnson was born in the Township of Crozierville, Liberia on November 22, 1939, to the union of Roland L. Kennedy and Nellie Saye-Kennedy. Her husband of 43 years, Jeremiah B. Johnson Sr., preceded her in death on September 9, 2008. Those that also preceded her in death were: her parents, her sons, Nathaniel and Benoni, her siblings: Cecelia, Theresa, Victoria, Jerome and Maude.
Ethel Matilda Kennedy-Johnson leaves to mourn her death: Rochforte Johnson, Jeremiah B. Johnson Jr. (Abina Sira Johnson), Lucretia Johnson-Verdier (Joseph A. Verdier) Jerryline Johnson-Daniels (Matthew Daniels), Eva Karbar (Alfred Karbar), Loure Johnson-Nwachukwu (Vincent Nwachukwu), Memeh Bedell-Nuway (George Nuway), Maron Johnson-Gabriel (James Gabriel), Clarence Johnson, Jeaneve Johnson, Darlington Johnson, Arnold Johnson and Ethel Matilda Johnson.
Siblings: Rufus V. Kennedy, (Elene), Emmett E. Kennedy (JaNice V.), Nellie V. Kennedy, Ernest S. Kennedy, host of Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends,
Sister Wee-wee, the Matriarch, of our family worked all her life, to make sure others were successful and to see others happy. Now she leaves to take her place among the Angels of God. May the Soul of Ethel Matilda “We-wee” Kennedy-Johnson rest in perpetual peace
