With weary hearts the Dunbar, Barclay, and Johnson families announce the passing of our dearest mother, sister, grandmother, aunty, niece, and cousin. Edwina was called to rest on October 30th, 2018. She is predeceased by her father Cllr. Stephen B. Dunbar, Sr., her mother Mary Barclay, and her brothers Joseph S. Dunbar and Charles Archibald Dunbar. Edwina was married to Oscar Johnson and from that marriage she had two sons, Oscar Johnson, Jr. (Chippy), and Edcar Johnson.
Edwina is survived by her two sons Chippy and Edcar Johnson, nine sisters, Sophie E. Dunbar-Brewer (Alex), Lydia Smith (Michael), Gloria Dunbar-Cooper, Massa Lansana Richardson, Grace Dunbar-Smith (Nixon), Bridget Dunbar-Brandy (Jehu deceased), Eminah (Erma) Dunbar-Quintyne, Stephanie Dunbar, Annie Zean Rebecca Dunbar (David), two brothers, Cllr. Stephen B. Dunbar, Jr., and Edwin Barclay Dunbar (Madia), and her longtime friend Pastor Alicia Freeman. She is also survived by her aunt Ciatta Barclay, grandchildren Olivia, Xavier, Nyla and Hannah Johnson, several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and relatives. She will be greatly missed. May her soul rest in perfect peace!
A Memorial Service will be held at The Trinity United Methodist Church on December 1st, 2018 at 9:00am, 375 Broad Street, Providence, Rhode Island 02907.
