ETTA MADAWEH DUOE JOHNNY

The Duoe and Johnny families announce with profound sorrow, the passing of Mrs. Etta Madaweh Duoe Johnny, our dear daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. This sad event occurred on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital/ Compassionate Care, Hamilton, New Jersey.
Etta Madaweh Duoe Johnny was born in Wehgar Town, Rivercess County, Liberia, born unto the union of Mr. McWeedee Duoe and Mitchen Duoe. She was the fourth of six children born to this union. Her parents and four of her siblings including Dubormah Duoe Cooper, Monen Duoe Travers and Tetee Duoe predeceased her.
Etta was one of the founding members and choir of the Mt Nebo Baptist Church, Airfield, Liberia, under the pastorship of the late Rev. Alfricanus Mapleh at an early age.
She migrated to the United States of America on August 17, 2002. Later, she joined Shiloh Baptist Church, Trenton, New Jersey where she remained until her death. She was a resident of Trenton, New Jersey.
Etta was married to Mr. Amos C. Johnny for more than forty years, he predeceased her in 2006. This union was blessed with five children of which two predeceased her, Josephine Mensah and Bessie F. Johnny. She leaves to mourn her loss, her children: Mr. William Darby Johnny (USA), Mrs. Priscilla Johnny Beyan (Robert) (USA), Alphonso C. Johnny (USA). Brothers: Charles Bloyou Duoe (Madea), Darlington Duoe (Martha), Alfred Satday Duoe, Professor G. Thomas M. Duoe (Rev Cecelia Goffa) and Ernest 26 Duoe (Beatrice). Sisters: Cecelia Duoe Goweh (Albert) and Esther Duoe Jayjay. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren and host of relatives and friends including her nephew Nah J. Gordon (Lynda) USA and her niece Mary Harmon Walters, USA.
Mama, grandma, aunty, sister, rest in peace. On that great getting up morning, we believe that we are going to meet you on that beautiful day, good night.
