Mrs. Joyce Hawah Charles Kandakai Jallah

The Jallah, Kandakai and Charles families regret to announce the home going of their beloved mother, sister, aunt, cousin, grandmother and great-grand mother, Mrs. Joyce Hawah Jallah. This sad event occurred at the Hennepin County Medical Center on Friday, March 19th, 2010 at 7:40 p.m. in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with her children and grand children at her bedside.

Mrs. Joyce H. Jallah was predeceased by her husband, Alan B. Jallah, Sr., son, Alan Pewee B. Jallah, Jr., brother, William B. Charles, sister, Musu Charles, and great uncle, the Rev. Christopher K. Kandakai.

Ma Joyce, Ma Jallah, Ma Hawah, Mother or Mrs. Jallah as she was affectionately known to many, worked diligently as a Certified Nurse (Midwife) for well over 30 years at the J. F. K. Maternity Center in Monrovia, Liberia. She also served in the capacity as a school nurse at the College of West Africa (CWA), Monrovia, Liberia for more than 10 years.

Mrs. Jallah is survived by her children: Ms. Jebeh Emily Jallah, Monrovia, Liberia, Augusta Jallah Paye, Coon Rapids, MN, William Zukeh Jallah (Tonia Norris), Elko New Market, MN, Henrietta Mamie Jallah-Ricks (Nixon), New Hope, MN, Joyce Sata Jallah-Cooper (Clayton), Brooklyn Center, MN. Also mourning her loss are her foster children: Beatrice J. Browne (Eric), Lawrenceville, Georgia, and William Sieh Kesselly (Dedeh), Monrovia, Liberia; brothers: Edwin Charles, Alfred Charles, Monrovia, Liberia; sisters: Celesta Charles, Monrovia, Liberia, Williamette Charles-Wheaton, USA; twenty-seven grand children, twenty great-grand children, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends of Liberia and USA.

SHE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED BY ALL WHO KNEW HER!
