WILLIAMETTA
HODGES (1917-2009)
With
thanks to God for a life well lived, the Greenfield,
Reeves, and Hodges families announce the home-going
of Williametta "Teacher Etta" Hodges
in her 92nd year. This joyous event occurred
on June 27, 2009. Mom was a strong willed and
caring mother.
She
leaves to rejoice in her memory seven biological
children: Adolphas Reeves, Lola Corrina Reeves,
Elizabeth Reeves-Greene, Lucretia Reeves-Baker
(Vernon), Rhodel Reeves-Jones, Cleophas Hodges
(Elizabeth), Quentin Hodges (Regena); Several
adopted children including Gretchen Hodges-Diggs
(Matthew), four step-children including Vonyee
Hall (Edward), and Nancy Hodges-Barnard, D.
Sakon Hodges-Dennis, Charlene K. Hodges-Francis
(JD). Other survivors include 56 grandchildren,
38 great-grand children, her favorite cousin
and friend Annie Diggs, her best friend Rosa
Dillon, several nieces and nephews, including
Walter Greenfield (Judy) and Juliette Greenfield,
cousins, beloved friends, and a host of other
relatives. Her youngest daughter, Rita Hodges
predeceased her in February, this year.

ARRANGEMENTS
Viewing
will be held on Friday, July 17, 2009, at Cook
Walden's funeral home at 6300 W. William Cannon
from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
A
thanksgiving celebration of our mother's
life will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2009
from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at St. James Episcopal
Church, 1941 Webberville Rd. She will then be
interned at Cook Walden's Cemetery, 6300 W.
William Cannon.
