Wlokpor Munah Alice Hayford “Ma Alice”

On the morning of March 31st, 2013 (Easter Sunday), the good lord took the hand of Wlokpor Munah Alice Hayford and guided her with grace and peace to her mansion over the hilltop. To have known her was to know God’s true image of a mother. A nurturing disciplinarian, and a fighter for her children, she gave of herself until her last breath. Her legacy extends far beyond her own children to the countless others she raised and cared for. Our hearts are heavy because she was our foundation. But we take solace in knowing that we hand-delivered her with our love to her father and the care of our ancestors. Her spirit was much too grand for the little body that held it. We all knew she was destined for a job bigger than we could fathom. So, our little firecracker is en route to light up the heavenly skies. Go good ya, Ma Alice!
Wlokpoh Munah was predeceased by her parents, Samual Wlokpor Hayford and Esther Kogba Mombo Hayford, her brother, Samuel Blamoh Hayford, and two children, Nugba Nmasnoh, and Portee Hayford.
She leaves to mourn her loss, her children; Anthony Siehnimah Nimley, (and spouse, Mrs. Shirley C. Nimley), Assunta Nmasnoh Nimley-Phillips, (and spouse, Mr. Jessey S. Phillips), Magdalene Nora Weeks-Brantley, (and spouse, Mr. Napoleon Brantley) Beatrice Mensah-Ajavon, (and spouse, Mr. Abraham Ajavon) Louise Welleh Mensah, Lawrence Teah Wlatee, her grandchildren; Octavia Munah Nimley-Gates, Anthony S. Nimley Jr, Walter Nimley, Amanda Nimley, Tiplah C. Nah-Broadnax, Simah A. Bropleh, Snorsio A. Moore, Justin S. Phillips, Michael Weeks-Kamara, William Touchie Knot, Francis S. Brantley, Yassah Assunta Gborlie, Emmanuel Losto Kamara, Douglas Esimoh Johnson, Rich Nuwede Johnson, and Ma Lu Wlatee; and a host of other relatives and friends residing in the United States and Liberia, West Africa.
