It
is with profound sadness that we must inform
you of the passing of Chara Massah Veronica
Hansford-Gitau, our beloved daughter, mother,
sister, niece, and friend on Saturday, June
6, 2009 at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn,
N.Y.
Chara
is survived by her mother, Amelia Cooper; her
father, Ambassador J. Charles Hansford Sr.;
her children, Kimathi and Gichura; her brothers,
Charles Jr., Daffeh, and Salchi and her sisters,
Bendu, Famatta, Maimah, Shawna, Wanda, and Zoe
and their respective families.
Those
mourning her loss include a host of devoted
aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, godparents,
colleagues, students, and very dear friends.
Viewing,
Wake-Keeping and Funeral Service
The
viewing will begin at 5 P.M. on Friday,
June 26, 2009 until the wake-keeping service
at 7 P.M.
The
funeral service will begin at 8 A.M. (sharp)
on Saturday, June 27, 2009.
