Merkle Lamell Greene died and was joined with his royalty in heaven on November 17th 2020. In life, He was a loving father, dutiful husband, wonderful friend and a bright soul that had a smile that shines for all to see.
Merkle enjoyed singing as if the angels were his audience every time. He loved everything basketball with LeBron James being his “new” favorite player. With always caring for everyone in his community. You could always rely on Merkle to help you with any task he could help with. From making it to parent teacher conferences for his children, to working on cars to help friends and family save a buck or two. He would always help
Merkle was loved by so many, his ability to be warm, strong, and comforting is what will be missed by so many. His greatest accomplishments are the children in his life. If you ever want to know how deep his love goes. Meet any of his children and you will see what kind of love he was able to give in his lifetime. Merkle was an amazing Father and friend who will be greatly missed.
Merkle is survived by his children Alpha Greene (son), Merkle Greene jr(son), Tinesee Greene (daughter), and Angel Greene (daughter) his sister Marie Greene his niece Hermaine Greene wife Oretha Greene and so many more family. He is preceded in death by James Greene, Herman Greene, Minnie Greene, Eve Greene

It is with deep sadness that the Greene, Frazier, Kelley, Grigsby, Majors and Brown families announce the death of our husband, father, brother, uncle and cousin Mr. Merkle Lamell Greene Sr. This downhearted event took place at the ELWA Hospital on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 in Monrovia, Liberia. Merkle, was born on November 13, 1954 in Greenville, Sinoe County to the union of the late Vice President of the Republic of Liberia James Edward Greene and Minnie Louise Frazier Greene. Merkle Lamell Greene Sr. was a devoted Christian and served as an Acolyte at the St. Paul Episcopal church in Greeneville, Sinoe County. His educational attainment included the Methodist elementary school in Greenville, Sinoe County, Ricks Institute in Virginia, Liberia, and Cuttington University in Suacoco, Liberia. While attending the university, he joined the choir and gained the nick names (Barry White and Al Green) because of his soulful voice. Merkle Lamell Greene was predeceased by his parents the late Vice President James Edward Greene, his mother Mrs. Minnie L. Greene, his brother Mr. Herman Perry Greene and his sister Edwina Vivian Greene. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Oretha Greene, his children Alpha Greene, Merkle Lamell Greene Jr., Tinesee Greene and Edwina Greene. His sisters Marie Greene, Brenda Harris, and Minnie Horace, his nieces Ms. Hermaine Price Greene, Mildred Greene, Linah Greene, his nephew Mr. Tyrell Greene, his three grandchildren, grand nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins and friends in the USA, United Kingdom, Liberia and around the world.
