Emily Weyatta Diggs Gray

With love, the family of Emily Weyatta Diggs Gray (familiarly referred to as “Mrs. Wureh” by her former students) wishes to announce her sudden passing. God called our Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, Teacher, Mentor and Friend home on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at 8:35 AM EST at the ELWA Hospital in Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband Fred Gray, her children: Gbornyenoh Darlene Wureh Kweme, Snami Janyene Emmanuella Wureh Glay, Weyatta Emily Wureh Murray and Kradi Comfort Wureh (Didi); her loving brother William T. Diggs; her grand children: Dimetri Johnuel Frank, Thaddeus Donovan Kweme, Daniel S. Glay Jr, Keani Faith and Khloe Grace Murray; sons-in law: Daniel S. Glay Sr., Kirk J. Murray; her father in-law Sande Ware; her sisters-in-law: Shirley M. Diggs and Miatta Gray; brother-in-law: William S. Hoff; her extended children: Fred Morris-Gray, Fredka Gray, Fredlyn Dukuly, Kronyan Eskimo Wureh, Koplah Wureh, JB, Momo, Mulbah, and nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives, students and friends including the ALCAH Memorial Preparatory School Family, the Joseph Jenkins Roberts United Methodist School Family, the Monrovia Demonstration School Family and the Our Lady of Lebanon, St. Joseph Parish Family.

Her parents Alfred Tamu and Jeanne Famatta Diggs; her bonus parents Foday J. and Rachel H. Massaquoi; sisters JoAnna Tenneh Diggs-Hoff and Jande Danlette Diggs predeceased her.

The Diggs, Gray, Wureh and Massaquoi families mourn her death but rejoice in knowing her soul rests in the bosom of God.

As you love me, let there be No mourning when I go,- No tearful eyes, No hopeless sighs, No woe,- or even sadness! Indeed I would not have you sad, For I myself shall be full glad, With the high triumphant gladness Of a soul made free Of God's sweet liberty –

Rejoice with me at my soul's loosing from captivity. Since, though I come no more, I shall be waiting there to greet you At His Door. And, as the feet of The Bearers tread The ways I trod, Think not of me as dead, But rather- "Happy, thrice happy, he whose course is sped! He has gone home - to God, His Father" -
