Mr. Alexander Boikai Mickey Gray

The Gray and Sogbeh families announce with great sorrows the death of our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, cousin, friend and son, Mr. Alexander Boikai Mickey Gray. He transitioned to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 20, 2020. at the Methodist Hospital, St. Louise Park, MN USA.

Alexander attended The William V.S. Tubman High School in Monrovia and graduated in (class of ’78) with a Diploma and Certificate from the Department of Education, Liberia and the West African Education Commission including vocation training in Architecture.

In the year 1985, he enrolled into College and Business Management & Public Administration, University of Liberia where he graduated in April 1998 with honors in a B.B.A. Degree in Business Management and Public Administration with a Minor in Economics. He also attended the University of London Special Training in Manpower Planning & Budgeting in September 1985.

In April of 1978, he was employed at the Ministry of National Defense, Liberia as a vacation student/cadet and then promoted to Director of Personnel in 1985 and later received a Presidential appointed as Deputy Defense Minister for Administration in April 1992. In June of 1997, he also received another Presidential appointment as Deputy Managing Director for Technical Services, Liberia Electricity Corporation, the Corporation responsible to distribute electrical power to the entire Nation.

Alexander was a loving and devoted man, and most of all, a child of God. He was always there to help the less fortunate. He cultivated a lot of special relationships throughout his life and faithfully served his community in Liberia and the USA. He cherished all his families, love ones, church families, friends and was an adopted father to so many In Liberia, United States and other parts of the world. Alexander loved to serve and had the passion for children, education and always wanted the best for them. Alexander maintained a unique relationship with everyone and hope to carry on his legacy.

Alexander passing leaves us sad, but we are glad that he is now in the company of our creator, the Almighty God. The memory of your vibrant smile, sweet and kind spirit, and the joy you shared with us will linger in our minds and hearts forever. REST IN PEACE Alexander!

Alexander later came to the United States, resided in Minneapolis and retired. He was very committed, devoted and faithfully served as Chairman, Board of Directors at Miracle Redemption Christian Center International, Minnesota in the USA, Eilat, Israel, Fuji Islands, The Philippines, Indian, Liberia, Kumasi and Accra, Ghana until his passing.

Alexander was predeceased by his father, Rev Joseph B. Gray. He Is survived by wife, Mariama Kumba Sogbeh- Gray. He is survived by his 3 children: Senora ‘Chuku’ Gray, Alexis ‘Puchu’ Gray -Kennedy (Mason), and Benjamin; his mother Rev. Victoria Brownell Gray – Russell, his siblings; Samuel Morris ( Emma -deceased), Lulu Gray Tarbolo, (Jerry), Maima Gray, Edward B. Gray, Henrietta Gray, Letina ’Sweetie’ Gray, Samuel D. Gray, ( Deddeh), Ellen M. Gray, Jonathan Gray, Benjamin Gray, Victor Nahwee Gray, ( Korto). He is survived by; 20 Nephews, 19 Nieces, 9 grandchildren and host of other relatives and friends.
