The Goaneh, Nylander, Zawolo, Woods, Johnson, Raynes, Howard, Vanderpuye, and Harris families regret to announce the home going of Sylvester Pei Goaneh also known as Joko after a period of several medical challenges. This sad event occurred on Wednesday, November 13th 2019 at home in Bowie, Maryland. Sylvester was born unto the union of Alfred P. Goaneh and Cecilia Nylander Goaneh in Monrovia, Montserrado County, Liberia on July 29, 1959.
Sylvester, is survived by his son, Ricky Goaneh; his mother, Cecilia Nylander Goaneh; his siblings, Alfreda Goaneh, Ophelia Ratcliffe, Gloria King (E. George) Priscilla Howard (J. Galakpai), Eunice Harris (Alvin), Gregory Goaneh, Julius Goaneh, Juliette Vanderpuye (Augustus), Christine Kou Johnson, Legend Goaneh and Nancy Caesar (Ezekiel). His father, Alfred P. Goaneh and brother, Emmanuel Goaneh predeceased him. His brother Edwin Goaneh transitioned on November 17, 2019 in Liberia. He is also survived by his uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, a host of relatives and friends who will miss him greatly.
Funeral Service for Sylvester will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019
