Gibson, Founding Member and Senior Deacon, Trinity Baptist Church, former City Mayor, Paynesville City Corporation, Deacon, Effort Baptist Church, Paynesville, Chairman, Board of Directors, Effort Baptist Church and Friends of Effort, USA, Former Member of Liberia Constitutional Advisory Assembly, District Deputy Grand Master for MW Omega Grand Lodge First Masonic District of Staten Island, New York, Past Worthy Master, 33rd Degree, Liberty Lodge 12, Staten Island, New York. This event occurred on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at the Staten Island University Hospital, Staten Island, New York.

Deacon Gibson is survived by his wife Mrs. Elizabeth Hutchinson Gibson, Eight biological Children, Barbara, Nathan aka Daddy-boy, Latoya Jacob (Christopher), Aurora Alma Williams, Robert, Rochelle (Ogharibhor), Tarrie, Nicole, including Nine Foster Children, Sara Samuels, Elizabeth Samuels, Joan Samuel, Madie Hutchinson, Mercy Hutchinson, Julius Samuels, Lorena Cooper and Abraham Cooper, and several adopted children. He is also survived Five sisters, Frances Aletha Gibson, Josephine S. Gibson Tucker (James), Maggie H. Gibson-Glay, Ida J. Gibson Dukuly (Lawrence), Olivia Gibson Langford (Himmie); three brothers, Nathaniel Gibson, Wilmot E. Gibson (Martha) Charles B. Gibson (Williette), Mrs. Grace Gibson, Mrs. Esi Gibson and Mr. F. Julius Caesar, many grand children, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives, the Trinity Baptist Churches of Staten Island, New York and Liberia, the Staten Island Liberian Community, Paynesville City Corporation, Effort Baptist Church family, The Free Masonry, friends from Liberia and the USA.

Deacon Gibson's sudden departure leaves a void and irreparable loss to the hearts and souls of his Family, the Staten Island Liberian Community, The Trinity Baptist Church of both USA and Liberia, the Churches on Staten Island and the Nation of Liberia. Words alone cannot describe how deeply he will be missed by the many lives that he has touched.  Rest in peace Deacon, you fought a good fight, you finished your course and kept the faith. Though we love you but God loves you the best.
