COLONEL REUBEN FRAHN KONTAR GEORGE

It
is with deep sorrow that the George, Caulcrick,
Hill and Brown families announce the home-going
of our beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother,
Uncle, Cousin, and Friend, Retired Colonel Reuben
Frahn Kontar George.
This
sad event occurred on November 12, 2009 @ The
John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital, Monrovia,
Liberia.
DADDY,
BLACK CAR, CHIEF GEORGE, UNCLE REUBEN, BOB GEORGE,
PA GEORGE, MR. GEORGE, PAPAY OR FATHER GEORGE
as he was affectionately called, was a Prince,
Servant and Leader among men and he lived his
life accordingly. He has fought the good fight,
he has finished his course, and he has kept
the faith; therefore, is laid up for him a crown
of righteousness which the Lord the righteous
judge shall give him on that great getting up
morning!
The
late RTD.COL. Reuben F. George served his country
and community faithfully and was distinguished
for his discipline, honesty, authority, strict-forwardness
and undemanding personalities.
He
will be remembered for his unenviable career
as a distinguished Security Expert and disciplinarian.
Upon completing advanced and professional security
training in Akron, Ohio and Washington,DC respectively
in the USA from 1966-1970, under the sponsorship
of the Firestone Plantations Company in Harbel,
Liberia; the late Chief George became the first
black Chief of the Firestone Plant Protection
Department (PPD) in Harbel, Liberia from 1972-1985.
He succeeded his Canadian boss and mentor the
late George Robert Tomalin (G.R.T.). Chief George
was honorably retired from Firestone in 1985.
In
1988, Colonel George was asked by the Leadership
Team @ the Ministry of Finance to reorganize
and head the Anti-Fraud Division as Director.
He served with distinction until he asked to
be retired in 1996 honorably.
Chief
George was a member of the first graduating
class of The Liberian National Police Training
Academy and also a product of the Booker Washington
Institute in Kakata, Margibi County.
The
late RTD.COL.Reuben Frahn Kontar George is survived
by his children: Mardea George-Bryant, Patience
George-Sieh, Fran Othello George, St. Tomalin
Nyenwolo George, I., Vivian George-Freeman,
Veronica Saywear George, Ophelia George-Campbell,
Rev. Geanjay George-Roberts, George Manjo Brown,
William (Bill) Hill, Aurelia Hill-Weah, Emmett
Hill, Clarence Hill, Jane Hill, Roland Newoen
George, Musu Sonnie-Williams; (39) grand-children,
(8) great-grand children; his only surviving
sibling Martha George, sisters-in-law; Jemima
Caulcrick, Joko Caulcrick, Ayo Caulcrick, Ossel
Caulcrick and Aina Caulcrick, several nieces,
nephews, cousins and a host of relatives and
friends. His wife of (33)- years Mrs. Ebun Caulcrick
George (predeceased), son Kontar Reuben George
(predeceased) and daughter Clarice Joko Hill(predeceased).
FUNERAL
ARRANGEMENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
On
Friday, December 4, 2009, the body will be removed
from the St. Moses Funeral Parlours @ 5pm and
taken to the George's residence on Cowfield,
Duport Road for one-hour of viewing and later
taken to The Elizer Turner AME Church on Camp
Johnson Road for wake-keeping from 6pm-9pm.
Funeral services will take place @ the same
Church on Saturday, December 5, 2009 beginning
@ 10am.
Interment follows immediately after the funeral
@ the Zubah Town Cemetery located on Duport
Road enroute to Rehab Road.
Repass follows at the home of the deceased on
Cowfield, Duport Road, Paynesville.
