The Death is announced of Dr. Fredrick Sayon Gbegbe, former President of the University of Liberia (UL), former Chairman of the West African Examination Council (WAEC), former Vice President for Academic Affairs for African Methodist Episcopal University (AMEU), former Cuttington University Graduate School Vice President for Administration, and a teacher to many students in the Republic of Liberia.

This sad event occurred, after a brief illness, on Monday, December 31, 2018 at the ELWA Hospital, Monrovia, Liberia.

Dr. Fredrick Sayon Gbegbe was predeceased by his lovely wife, Mrs. Mildred Soko Gbegbe.

He is survived by many, many children, grand and great grandchildren. He is also survived by many relatives: sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, cousins, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandsons-in-law, and extended families of Bolahun, Lofa, Liberia and the United States.

Dr. Gbegbe hailed from Fangonda township, Lofa County. He was a founding member of the Bolahun Alumni , Friends & Family Association (BAFA), and also a founding member of the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, Paynesville, Liberia. He was a loving and committed father.

May his soul and all the souls of the faithfully departed rest in eternal peace. Amen.
