It is with deepest sorrow that the Edna James and James Y. Gbarbea families announce the passing of our beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and cousin Nuwoo Madea Trokonwude Gbarbea.  This sad event occurred on Monday, December 14, 2015 in Clayton, New Jersey. Left to embrace her memories are her children, Nuwoo Pope and Sayda Dunlap; her mother, Edna E. James; her sisters, Roseline Clarke, Gradia Melrose Gbarbea, Leemu B. Gbarbea, and Mayeadeh P. Gaye; her brothers, James Y. Jr., Alexander, Kwena, and Robert Gbarbea; her nieces and nephews, Elma “PJ” Garway, Mameni Gbarbea, Sean Thomas, Charles T. Kowou, and glambaby, Michael J. Pope III and a host of other relatives, loved ones and friends.

May the soul of our dearest Nuwoo rest in perfect peace.
