It’s with heavy hearts and profound sadness, the Gbanda, and Tanwin families regret to announce the death of Miss Joyce Nou-Akeh Gbanda who passed away on March 22, 2017 at Stanford USD Medical Center.  She was affectionately called “Turtle.”
Joyce was born to the Union of Atletha and Peter Gbanda in the city of Monrovia, Liberia.  She is predeceased by her father Peter Gbanda, her siblings Mitchel and Denise Gbanda.  She is survived by her loving son Justin Ikenna Abanobi, her mother Alethea G. Gbanda, and grandmother Mary Paul Tanwin.  She is also survived by her siblings Cynthia, Lance and Alpeta Gbanda, along with a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended families and friends.
