Lucy Gbala

The Gbala, Kaine, Free and Paygai families announce with profound sorrow, the homegoing of Mother Lucy Gbala (Gaye, Glayon, Kideethey, Lowahnyan, Kaine), after a period of illness, on Sunday, March 29, 2020 at the home of her daughter, Eliza Free-Paygai and son in law, Rev. Arthur Y. Paygai, in Brockton, MA, USA.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her daughters, Eliza N. Free-Paygai (Rev. Arthur Y. Paygai), Celestine Dean Bryant and Sophia Tailey; brothers, Hon. Bai M. Gbala and Sarwho Gbala (Gordon Miller)(Ruth); sister Thelma Sunday George-Emerson (Patrick); niece, Henriette Gweh Gbala; nephew, Bai Kayou Gbala; grandchildren, Teddy C.B.L. Paygai (Ophelia), Charles T. R. Paygai, D. Artliza Zeesaw Paygai, Watchen Tina Teetee Paygai, Tomah Kennedy Williams, Rose Shannah, Beatrice Gray, Eric Parker and Josephine Swaray; greatgrand children, Adrianna Eliza Paygai, Teddy Paygai, Jr., Tessa Blessing Paygai and a host of family members and friends.

She lived a peaceful life and was very close to her daughter, Eliza,  with home she spent a significant portion of her golden years. We will miss her radiant smiles which lit any room.

Due to the national health emergency, the viewing and funeral services will not be opened to the public. A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced.
