 Mrs. Gertrude Araminta Findley

The Findley, McGill, Milton and Lloyd families, announce that our dearly beloved Mother, Sister, Aunt, Grandmother, Cousin, and Friend, stole away to be with Jesus on Wednesday, November 27th, 2019, at 8 pm. Her transition from earth to glory occurred at the Silverlake Nursing home, in Dover Delaware, U.S.A.
Gertrude Araminta Findley was born on September 1st, 1930, in the city of Monrovia, (Rocktown Girl) Liberia. She was the 5th child of the late Mr. David Lindsey McGill of Monrovia Liberia, and the late Mrs. Arinza Milton-MCGill of Cape Palmas, Maryland County, Liberia.
She was predeceased by her husband, Counsellor Joseph P. H. Findley Sr., her son Thorneycroft Lindsey Findley, and all of her brothers and sisters except Ms. Ellen Crayton.
She leaves to mourn her loss and cherish her memories, her children: Sarah Jegede-Toe (Donald), Joseph Findley Jr., Gertrude Findley-Christian (Ed), Samuel Findley, Milton Gbezohnga Findley, Berma Findley, Leah Porter (Ralph), Alice Mapoo McGill, David Findley (Yamah), Jebbeh Klah (Richard), Famatta Gordon, Alice Johnson-Howard, George Herman Totimeh, Curtis Findley, Mona Haddad Lamour, Lisa Wilson and Deneah Martin. Twenty-six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, one sister, Ellen Crayton, sister-cousins: Lady Woods, Maria Milton and Charlotte Edwards and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends in Liberia and the United States of America.
