It is with profound sorrow that the Eke, Wilson, Brewer, Harmon, Davis, and Major families, announce the sad and untimely home going of our beloved son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and relative, Anthony George Ofunwa Eke Jr. This sad event occurred on 10/26/2020, at his home in Lawrenceville, GA.
“Georgie Eke” as he was affectionately called, was the son of Antoinette Deborah “Honey” Wilson, and Anthony Eke Sr., both of whom predeceased him. He was also predeceased by his brother, Natty B. Davis, sister, Rachel Barbie Gardiner Cummings, and step mother, Marie Stewart Eke. He is survived by his second Mom, Sara Euphemia Wilson, his siblings; James Olie Davis (Wilhelmina), Thomas Esterly “Buddy” Major (Esther), Sieta “Angel” Major Scott (Clark), Gabriella “Gabie”Hney, Celestine Browne, Cecelia Gardiner, Margaret Gardiner, Chelnecia Brewer, Euphemia “Pheme” Wilson, Glenna Wilson, Margaret Wilson, Natalie Wilson, Tina Eke, Emmanuel Eke, Ifeoma Eke, Nicole Eke, Nuka Eke, Nicholas Eke, and Steven Stewart. His Aunts; Margaret Wilson Mirin, Adeline Wilson Hedd-Williams, Katherine Wilson, Gwendolyn Gooding Wilson, Juanita Wilson, Frances Wilson Hoff, and grand aunt, Henrietta “Bettie” Brewer. His nieces and nephews; Brenay Major, Baindu Davis Stevens, Taurean Major, Taylor Major, Loraine Scott, Clark Scott Jr., Hilary Tubman, Glenn Nimely, Corey Wilson, Antoinette “Honey” Blamo, Brenay “Monjay” Davies, and Kojo “KJ” King Jr. His many family members and friends, with notable mention to Donald and Nevonne Jones, Faikai and Edwina Gardiner, the Streete Family (adoptive), as well as, Gloria, Leroy, and Nevonne “Nema” Moulton, who were a strong source of support during the last two years of his life….and for that, we remain eternally grateful!
Due to the COVID 19 restrictions, indoor attendance will be limited to 50 people only, and the mandatory social distancing and mask wearing measures will be enforced. The home going service will be livestreamed on Saturday, 11/14 at 11am via the link below:
