Obituary
Nester
S.Duncan was born in Virginia, Liberia, January
13, 1935 to Sarah Burphy Duncan and James W.
Duncan. She was the only daughter of three children.
Nester's early education was at Suehn Industrial
Mission and she received her secondary education
certificate in 1958. She furthered her education
at the University of Liberia and received her
B.Sc. in Education in 1969. The rest of her
career was spent with the Monrovia Consiladated
School System, serving as Director of Secondary
Education. She lived a majority of her life
on 14th Street in Monrovia.
She
departed Liberia in the late 80's and settled
in Rochester, New York, USA. She worked with
Americorps in Rochester from 2001-2002. Nester
Duncan leaves behind a brother Kandakai A. Duncan
of Providence, RI; children are Clarence A.
Norman of Fairport, NY and Aken V. Wariebi of
Rochester, NY. She also is survived by two grandchildren
Arianna and Torian and many nieces and nephews
in Providence, RI and Rochester, NY.
