ALFRED MANNIE DOUSUAH

The Dousuah, Summerville, Woewiyu, Gbah and Dahnsaw families regret to announce the death of. Hon. Deacon Alfred Mannie Dousuah. The sad event occurred December 25, 2016 at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey after a protracted period of illness.  He was born unto the Union of John Dousuah and Rutoe Gbah Dousuah both which predeceased him. Alfred is survived by his devoted wife, Betty Summerville Dousuah; his children, Teta Dousuah Lari, Garmongar Dousuah, Garmonyu Dousuah and Bernice Chea; along with his four grandchildren, Ethan, Talia, Eddie and Genevieve.  He also leaves to mourn his siblings, D. George Dousuah, Joseph Dousuah, Annie Dousuah, Martha Dousuah, Sonmar Dousuah, Marie Dousuah, Cecelia Dousuah Gbardeh, Mai Dousuah with a host of family and friends both in the USA and Liberia.  

Alfredo, Al, as he was affectionately called, earned a BA and MSW degrees at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey; he worked for Catholic Community Charities as a Social Worker.  Alfred was passionate about making a difference in his community;  he served as Local President of United Bassa Association of North Jersey and National President for the United Bassa Organization in the Americas-UNIBOA for two terms. He actively participated in numerous Liberian Community activities.   

Alfred was a devoted Christian who was recently ordained as a Deacon at the Apostolic Outreach International Church of Newark, NJ.  Our beloved Alfred will be sorely missed, may he rest in perfect peace.
