Kaberue Kiazolue Diggs, Sr. ( Daddy)
The Diggs, Kiazolue and Daniels families announce
the home going of Deacon Osborne Kaberue Kiazolue
Diggs, Sr., affectionately called "Numbers",
on Friday, September 25, 2009 at St. Agnes Hospital
in Baltimore, Maryland. Daddy leaves to mourn
his indelible loss, his beloved wife and soul
mate of 53 years, Elder Eva B. Diggs, loving
children: Benette Kiazolue White, Anthony Kiazolue
(Rita), Deacon Osborne Kaberue Kiazolue, Jr.,
(Julia) Handel Kiazolue (Mona), Rev. Andrew
Momolue Kiazolue (Ottalee), Ciata Kiazolue,
Eva Kiazolue Jardia, Deacon Lloyd Kiazolue (Amoleen),
Charles Kiazolue (Ciata), and nineteen grandchildren
and three great-grandchildren. Deacon Diggs'
other survivors include his brothers, William
H. Kiazolue Diggs, Sr., Morley Kiazolue Diggs
and John Kiazolue Diggs. Daddy is also survived
by brothers-in laws, Edwin S. Daniels, Sr.,
William H. Daniels, and Adolphus Capehart, one
sister-in-law, Rev. Anna Bonah, and a host of
cousins, relatives and friends in the United
States of America and Liberia. Deacon Diggs
was ordained as deacon of the Providence Baptist
Church in Liberia where he was an active member
when he lived in Liberia, member of the Providence
Baptist Church Fellowship in the U.S.A and an
active member of New Psalmist Baptist Church
in Baltimore, Maryland. Mr. Diggs served his
country for 37 years with his last stint as
Deputy Director General for Technical Services
at the National Archives for eight years. He
was the founding member and former President
of the Liberia Library Association, former President
of the Liberia United Nations Association, Editor
of the KAAFA, the official Journal of the Society
of Liberian Authors. He was the first Chairman,
Board of Directors of the Julia Slocum Mission
Enterprise. He was one of Liberia's poet laureates
and a few of the inspiring and entertaining
poems are "Order Be Order," "Borbor
John," and the "Bucket Brigade."
He wrote his University of Liberia Class Song,
"INUTIS," in 1952. His last literary
work was "Obama Still Speaks" in celebration
of this epic moment.
