Mr. Gerald Adolphus Davies

The Davies, Cooper, Matthew, Parker, Payne, Washington, Phelps, and Brooks families with deep sadness announce the death of our grandfather, father, uncle, brother and cousin.  Gerald Adolphus Davies died November 16, at 2:30 AM in Monrovia, Liberia.

He leaves to mourn his wife, Mrs. Sabrina B. Davies; his siblings Samuel P. Cooper, Adriana Cooper Stewart, Cynthia Davies, and Claudette Cole; his children Hillary Davies, Geraldine Davies, Gerald A. Davies, Jr.  Claude A. Davies, Rose Marie Grigsby, Georgia D. Howard, Maitta D. Seton, Adolphus Davies, Glenn Davies, Bismark Davies & Adolphine Davies; his grand children Abraham Davies, Arnold James, Arnalda James and Rexshell Hoff, Gerald J. Davies, Geraldvi Davies, Herbert Grigsby, Samuel Davies, James Davies and Georgia Davies; great-grandchildren Gbigbi J. Davies, Phalderald Davies and Abraham G.  Davies.

Mr. Davies worked within the Special Security Services at the Executive Mansion of The Republic of Liberia; during President William V.S. Tubman’s term in the 1960’s. He continued his service under President William R. Tolbert Jr. until the late 1970’s. He retired as a Major from The Executive Mansion of The Republic of Liberia.

On Saturday December 3, 2016 at ten o’clock funeral service will be at the Shiloh Baptist Church in Virginia, Montserrado County.  Interment follows thereafter at the Family Cemetery, Virginia, Montserrado County, Liberia.

May the “Almighty God,” watch over our “loving father” and give him a peaceful resting place; including, “being merciful, forgiving and receive his soul in The kingdom of heaven.”
