The
David, Davis, Harvey, and Givens families announce
with profound regrets the passing, in his 69th
year, of their husband, father, grandfather,
brother, uncle, and cousin, the Rev. Eric L.
David, Sr. This sad event occurred at the Washington
Hospital Center, Washington, D.C., on Saturday,
February 19, 2011 at 12:30 a.m., following a
brief illness. He leaves to mourn his cherished
memory his loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Connie
Prevost David; his children, Eursula L. David-Sherman
(E. Cosby), Erica Cole (Reginald), Eureka Jackson
(Ronald), Eric L. David, Jr. (Celise), and Semuteh
Rogers (William); a mother-in-law, Mrs. Patsy
Davis; twelve (12) grandchildren; two brothers,
Ambassador Willie A. Givens, Sr. and Mr. Frederick
I. David (Mary); three sisters, Mrs. Rose David,
Mrs. Sarah Givens Carey, and Mrs. Sadie L. DeShield;
four sisters-in-law, Mrs. Irene David, Mrs.
Odessa Williams (Paul); Mrs. Addie Jennings
(Lewis) and Mrs. Pinkie Kier (Joseph), and a
host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends
in the United States, Liberia and many other
parts of the world.

The
remains of the Rev. Eric L. David will lie in
repose on Thursday, March 10, 2011, at West
Hyattsville Baptist Church, 3100 Nicholson St.,
Hyattsville, MD, from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. (301.559.8461)
Viewing
and wake-keeping services
take place on Friday, March 11, 2011, at the
Inter-Denominational Church of God, 19201 Woodfield
Rd., Gaithersburg, MD, 20879 from 6 p.m. until
9 p.m. (301.963.3012)
Final
viewing will be held Saturday, March 12,
from 8 a.m. - 9:15 a.m. followed by funeral
services beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Inter-Denominational
Church of God.
