The
Chie, Weefur, Wotorson, Nimely, Toe, Siryon,
Strong, and Horace families deeply regret to
announce the home going of their father, husband,
grandfather and great-grand father, brother,
etc,. He was 93 years old.
Rev. D. Nyeka Chie (Papa) was peacefully called
home to rest on Friday November 19th 2010 at
3:30am in Mattapan Massachusetts after a protracted
illness. During his days on this earth, Papa
was the Grandcess/Grand Kru organizer and founder
of the 4H Club and Gehnyanohbo meaning: "Come
to your Self." Rev. Chie was a committed
public servant in the government of Liberia.
He served as Dean of Boys at the Booker Washington
Institute in Kakata/Liberia in 1958 to the early
60s. Director of Sawmall-Lamco in 1964, Superintendent
of the Monrovia Central Prison and Ground Superintendent
of the John F. Kennedy Medical Facility in Monrovia/Liberia.

Chie served as the pastor of Charles White United
Methodist Church in Upper Buchannan, First United
Methodist Church in Lower Buchannan, Mount Zion
United Methodist Church of Harlandfville, and
United Methodist Church of Harrisville, Grand
Bassa County.

life. Rev. Chie leaves to his cherish memory
