With heavy hearts the Carter and Chelley families announce the passing of Yampu Louise Carter Chelley. She departed suddenly from this earth on Monday January 7, 2019 in Maple Grove, MN. She was a beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, cousin and friend.
She leaves to mourn a multitude of family and friends in the United States, Liberia, and around the world.
Her love and kindness was cherished by all who were privileged to know her. She is survived by her seven children: Kay Scott, Vornyenoh Chelley Blayon, Diamond Mack Chelley, Zaieyah Chelley Pitt, Jademul Chelley Freeman, Tete Chelley Trawally and Augustus Jenkins Johnson. Her grandchildren: James Chelley, Joel Newton, Shanice B. Pitt, D'Marco Chelley, Joseph Newton, Zaniyah B. Pitt, Bobby B. Pitt, Zion B. Pitt, Gabriella Chelley, Jeremiah Chelley, Faith E. Freeman, and Ellen Louise Freeman. Her loving Mother, Sundayma Carter and siblings: Otterlee Carter, Tonia Carter, Oretha Carter, John Carter, Emmanuel Carter and Irine Carter.
The family of Sister Yampu Louise Carter Chelley would like to invite friends and family to join in the home going services and celebration of her life on Friday and Saturday February 8 and 9, 2019.
