On October 18th, 1968 a candle was lit for Augustine Monde Ceris Charlie and it burned brightly for 49 years. The flames of that candle went out on October 4th, 2018 as he was called home to be with his Lord. Charlie was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, cancer of the bone marrow, on October 2nd, 2013 and for 5 years fought long and hard. Through his love for his family and his Lord, Charlie found the strength to fight this battle against cancer for so long. Eventually, he was declared the winner and will receive his eternal reward in a heavenly place alongside his Savior. He is finally at peace and the memory of him will be forever embedded in our hearts.
Charlie is survived by his mother, Mary; his beloved wife of over nine years, Louisa; his five children, Andrea (Mamie), Marion (Teeta), Abraham, Lousimon and Gifty; his grandsons, Richard and Jamal; his brothers and sisters; Poleejou, Kornah, Toulaw, Kowah, and Manday; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. May his soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.
