Joel M. Cassell Sr.

We the Cassell family wish to announce the home-going of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend: Deacon Joel M. Cassell Sr. who went to be with the Lord the 27th  of July 2017 at 9:30PM in Providence Rhode Island.

Deacon Cassell was born on November 18, 1927 to the union of Isabella and Thomas Cassell who pre-deceased him in the city of Brewerville, Montserrado County, Liberia.

He worked for Liberia Public Utility Authority later known as Liberia Telecommunications Corporation for many years and retired in 1987, as a dedicated civil servant. He also served as a council member of Brewerville City.

Deacon Cassell gave his life and lived for the Lord from 1943, up to his passing. He served as chairman of the Deacon Board of Zion Grove Baptist Church in Brewerville, Liberia where he was Baptized and made a Deacon, and was a current Deacon at the Westside Tabernacle Baptist Church in Providence, Rhode Island, USA up to his passing.

Deacon Cassell leaves to mourn his passing: his wife, Deaconess Rebecca H. Cassell;
seven children: Joel M. Cassell Jr., Sardia Cassell Scott, Zoe Cassell, Lynda Cassell Williams, Thomas Cassell, Jah Cassell and Segba Cassell; fifteen grandchildren: Michael, Gloria, Joelle, Eli, Rebecca, Sardia, Joel III, Leona, Amber, Phoebe, Steven, Prince, Chris, Jenkins and Jessica; four great-grandchildren: Genesis, Michael Jr, Tristan, and Cassie; four brothers: Shedrick Cassell, Rufus Cassell, Benjamin  Cassell and David Tweh; eight nieces and nephews: Albert Cassell, Isabella Cassell Johnson, Marie Cassell Smith, David Cassell, Napoleon Cassell, Genevie Cassell ,Evelyn  Cassell Kamara, and Mack Cassell; cousins: Joe Barker, Sam Barker; and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral Arrangements:

Wake Keeping will be held on  Friday August 18, 2017 from 6pm-9pm at Ebenezer Baptist Church: 475 Cranston St Providence, Rhode Island 02907

Funeral Services will be held on  Saturday August 19, 2017 at 10am sharp at Ebenezer Baptist Church: 475 Cranston St Providence, Rhode Island 02907

Repass follows at Five Star Restaurant: 43 Bucklin St. Providence, Rhode Island 02907
