The Brownell-Woods families announce the home going of our loving Mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin in her 93nd year. This event occurred on Saturday June 17, 2017 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Braselton, Georgia with her children by her side.
Maria was born unto the union of Elijah Tyson Woods and Mai Russ-Woods in Edina, Grand Bassa County, Liberia on July 22, 1924
She was pre-deceased by her husband Mishael D Brownell I and her son Danny Brownell.
She leaves to mourn her children: Myrna Wiles-Tolbert (*Daniel), Mishael D. Brownell, II (Mai), Sophie Brownell-Dennis (John), Magdalene Brownell, Wani-Mai Brownell-Duncan (Maxwell) and Anthony Brownell (Precious) – many grandchildren and great grandchildren, her sisters Elura Woods-Jones, Emma Woods-Wordsworth and Hesta Woods-Baker and a host of relatives and friends.
There will be a wake and funeral service held in Lawrenceville, Georgia U.S.A. and thereafter her remains will be flown to Liberia West Africa for its final internment.
