Prince
Delano Browne 3rd
With
profound sorrow, the Browne family announces
the death of our dear son, brother, nephew,
cousin, Prince Delano Browne 3rd, commonly known
as "Pookie".
Prince
"Pookie" Delano Browne, 3rd was born
June 4, 1986 (age 24). With his family by his
bedside, Prince passed away on Sunday October
10, 2010 at University of Mass Medical Center
as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile
accident on May 5, 2008. Pookie is survived
by his parents Pastor Prince D. Browne 2nd (Bindu),
Barbara Browne ( step-dad ,Vincent Turton),
his brothers Ujay Bright, Valentine, Dimitre,
Bryant Browne and Xavier Turton; his sisters
Miniya Turton and Mangie Browne; his grandmothers,
Mangie Grimes-Browne and Oretha Shobayo; his
aunts, uncles, cousins, nephew, friends and
loved ones. He was predeceased by (his grandfathers
Hibbard Delano Browne, Randolph C. Browne).
Prince
was known for his community organizing and his
volunteerism. He was an annual volunteer for
Harrington Hospital's Duck Day, volunteered
in the public schools and for Southbridge Community
Connections events. Where ever Prince was, there
were youths. He was their friend and role model.
He worked for Southbridge Community Connections
as a Youth Coordinator and Advocate. Prince
was the youth organizer for Kite Day. He was
an Outreach Coordinator for UMass Memorial Medical
Center, working with families and youth at the
Family Center in Webster. He also worked with
the Prospect Park Youth (Brooklyn, NY).
He
attended P.S. 92 (New York - Elementary), I.S.
2 (New York - Intermediate), Prospect High School
(New York), Southbridge High School (Southbridge,
MA) where he graduated from. Prince loved camping
and did so every summer for ten years at Fairview
Lake, (NJ, USA) where he was camp counselor.
