Michelle Hedd-Williams Brown aka “Inch”

The Hedd-Williams, Appleton, and Tweh families are heartbroken to announce the death of their daughter, sister, wife, mother, cousin, aunt, grandmother, and friend, Metchell K.ukor Hedd-Williams Brown

Metchell fought a courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer. She passed peacefully in her home in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on Tuesday, July 21, 2020.

“Inch” as she was affectionately called by her siblings, was a loving, caring, hardworking and excellent provider. Metchell was an entrepreneur and a woman of faith. Through her work, as a renowned Child Care provider, she positively impacted the lives of many children and their parents. She left lasting impressions on the people she encountered; and she was passionate about the well-being of children Metchell was kind and she loved to cook. She was loved by her communities in Charlotte, NC, and Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Metchell was predeceased by her mother Rose P. Tweh, her father MD, Solomon Hedd-Williams, Sr., her stepfather Cllr. E. Wade Appleton, Sr., and her sister Florence Pandora Hedd-Williams. She is survived by her husband James Brown, her sons Shadrach “McDolph” Brown, Adolphus Brown, Marcel Briggs, her daughter Catherine Brown Anderson and her grandson Deon Anderson. Metchell is also survived by her brothers Chuckuma Solomon G. Hedd-Williams, Jr, E. Wade Appleton, Jr., Zohderock Hedd-Williams, Daniel Hedd-Williams, Chuckuma Hedd-Williams III; her sisters, Laurina Hedd-Williams, Rose “Baby Rose” Hedd-Williams, Edith Appleton and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, and many other relatives.

We have loved Metchell in life, let us not forget her in death. We will miss her zest for life, her sparkling eyes, her big smiles, her joyous laugh, and her outstanding acts of kindness and love. Metchell’s love will forever be ingrained in our memories.
