Albertha L. Brown
65, of Warwick, passed away on Tuesday, September 1st, 2020 at RI Hospital, Providence, RI. She was born in Plebo Maryland County, Liberia a daughter of the late James B. Lincoln and Ruth Nagbe.
Albertha was a Direct Support Professional for Opportunities Unlimited. She loved helping others and dedicated 27 years of her life to working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
In 1975 she became one of the first women to integrate women into the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL). As SSGT, Albertha Lincoln Brown was one of 50 women who were able to be a part of that historic moment. As a medical personnel in the AFL, she had the opportunity to be trained at FT. Sam Houston in 1976. She also graduated from the Esther Bacon School of Nursing and Midwifery in Zorzor Lofa County Liberia. SSGT Albertha L. Lincoln Brown also studied at the Phillips College San Antonio TX. USA.
She is survived by her loving children: Lorenzo Freeman of Liberia, Thomas Brown of Liberia, Ruth Wright of Providence, RI, Jerod Brown of Providence, RI and Mardia Brown of Miami, FL; her 21 siblings including: Isabella Dalieh-Nigba of Indianapolis, IN, Alfred Lincoln of Indianapolis, IN, and her 9 cherished grandchildren.
Funeral
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, September 19th from 10:30-12:00 at NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston, RI followed by a Funeral Service at 12: 00pm .
Internment: Highland Memorial Cemetery, Johnston, RI. Her burial will be private.
