The Home Going of Mr. Jimmy G. Askie

The Askie and Gbodgo families regret to announce the passing of Mr. Jimmy G. Askie, the son of the late Chief Quiqui Gbodgo and the late Madam Nyalia Gbodgo of the town of Gbawu, Swen-Mecca District, Bomi County, Liberia.

This sad event took place in the city of Hyattsville, Maryland, USA on January 26, 2015. Before taking up citizenship in the United States of America, the deceased was a successful cocoa, coffee, and rice farmer on the banks of the Mahai River in the town of Mahai, Bomi County, Liberia, where he also served as town chief.  Mr. Askie was married twice but both wives predeceased him. The marriages were blessed with nine (9) children. Left  to mourn his passing are; his only sibling, Madam Gbowah Gbodgo, his  children: E. Musu Askie-Kemokai, Fata, Francis, Famata, Nenneh, Jatu, Tumah, Siafa, and  Massa  Askie; twenty seven( 27)  grand children, three (3 ) great-grand children, a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on February 21, 2015 at the St. Paul United Methodist Church,
2601 Colston Drive, Chevy Chase, MD 20815, USA.  

Viewing: 9 -10AM,  The  Service: 10AM – 12 Noon.  The burial will take place shortly thereafter at the George Washington Cemetery, 9500 Riggs Road, Adelphi, MD 20783.
