Mrs.
Esther Urey Andrews
The
Andrews, Urey, Deputy and Lynch families announce
the passing of our beloved mother, sister, aunt,
grandmother, cousin and friend, Mrs. Esther
Urey Andrews. Her passing occurred in the early
morning hours of Thursday, June 17, 2010, in
Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Mother
Andrews, as she was known to her beloved United
Christian Fellowship Church congregation where
she was a Deacon, was born in Careysburg on
September 20, 1935. She was married to G. Henry
Andrews.
She
was a lifelong volunteer for public service
and was an organization director of the Red
Cross chapter in Liberia, where she managed
swim classes for children.
The
passing is deeply mourned by her children:

(Les DeShield) & Theresa Urey Brima . Her
grandchildren: Siaka Chenoweth, Angel Chenoweth,
Emem Umoden, Peaches, Hawa-Ellen, George and
Peggy Dozier, Vanjah, Joan Marie & Destiny
Andrews and Jaden Howard (PJ).
Brothers:
T.R. Urey*, Alec Urey, Ben Urey*, William Urey*,
Roosevelt Urey.
Sisters: Marie Urey Coleman, Genieve
Urey, Anna Urey Phillips, Emma Urey Cassell,
Early Urey Cooper*, Birdie Urey Weeks and Katherine
Urey White Dennis.
Mother
Andrews will be further remembered by a host
of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, relatives,
sons and daughters that she embraced over the
years, the Golden Girls, members of the Careysburg
association, her life best friend, Mother Annie
Smith, her neighbor and daughter Comfort Flomo,
and most certainly by her beloved church of
many years, the United Christian Fellowship
Church, the UCFC's Senior Ministry, her UCFC
pastors Courage Kai, Pokiah Roberts and her
'son' she has known since he was a 15 year old
child, The Reverend Charles Goah.
