In Loving Memory of Al Rufus Anderson
The Anderson and Ledlow families are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our father, brother, nephew, uncle, and cousin, Al-Rufus Zobon Anderson; in his 63rd year, at his home in Decatur, Georgia.
Papa, Pops, Al, Papee-O-Dae, Poor African, among other affectionate names he was called, leaves to mourn his irreparable loss, his children: Ajawah, Javian, Janelle, and Asia; sisters: Leona Waiwaiku, Elizabeth Bowen, Marian Ivy (John), Cecelia McGee (Charles), Comfort Anderson-Miller (Elijah), and Yolanda Browne (David); an aunt, Auntie Gbedee; several nieces, nephews, cousins, good friends at church, work and in the community. He was predeceased by his parents: Robert William Anderson, Sr. and Mary Ledlow Anderson; elder brother, Robert W. Anderson Jr., and nephew, Clarence Anderson and other family members.
Al Rufus was first married to Mary-Annie Howard and to Nancy Wrotto (his forever wife and lifetime partner). He was an avid scrabble player, a lover of all genre of music (R&B, jazz, classical etc.), and had a great appreciation for fashion. He lived life on his own terms and to its fullest. He will be deeply missed. We love you Papa, but God’s eternal peaceful rest is our acceptance.
A memorial service for Al-Rufus Anderson, to be followed by a repass, will be held at the
International Fellowship Church, located at 461 School Drive SE, Atlanta, GA on Saturday April 25th, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
