Ernest Kwame Adadevoh, MD,  FRCOG,  FACOG

The Adadevoh, Segbefia, Amankwah, Cole and Hutchison families announce with overwhelming sadness the untimely death of Dr. Ernest Kwame Adadevoh in his 60th year.  Dr. Adadevoh was Director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Prince George’s Hospital Center in Cheverly, Maryland; and a member of the faculty of Ross University School of Medicine.  He died at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland USA on September 25 after a period of illness. Dr. Adadevoh worked as a General Practitioner at Island Hospital in Liberia from 1982 to 1989.

Dr. Ernest Kwame Adadevoh received his medical degree from University of Ghana Medical School in 1982; completed residency training in obstetrics and gynecology in the United Kingdom in 1992.  He was admitted as a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) in the UK in 1992 and later as a Fellow in 2005.  He also completed residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Howard University Hospital, Washington, DC in 1999.  He was acknowledged as a diplomate by the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in 2002.  Dr. Adadevoh was board certified in Maryland and the District of Columbia.

He was the beloved husband of Patricia Adadevoh (nee Cole) for 25 years, and proud father of Michael.  He is also survived by his mother Mrs. Joyce Dorsla (nee Segbefia) and sister Evelyn Amankwah both of Woodbridge, Virginia; his brother Derek Segbefia of Luton, UK; his sister Ama Adadevoh and brother  Kojo Adadevoh of Pennsylvania; several nieces and nephews; a host of relatives in the USA, UK, Ghana and Nigeria; and many devoted friends and colleagues.  His father Dr. Babatunde Adadevoh and siblings Barbara, Willie, Kofi, Germaine, and Ameyo pre-deceased him.
