Mrs. Sarah Adaline Hoff-Tower

The Hoff and Tower families announce with profound sadness the joyous and peaceful home-going of their beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, Cousin and Sister, Mrs. Sarah Adaline Hoff-Tower.

Adaline was affectionately known as Bigma, Ma, Darling Aunty, Aunty Awun, Aunty Adaline, Teta-B, a loving sister, a dear cousin, a good friend, and Mrs. Sarah Adaline Hoff-Tower. This sad event occurred on Friday, June 5, 2015 at 8:45 am at Tri-City Hospital in Oceanside, California.

Bigma was pre-deceased by her parents, Rev. William S. Hoff and Mrs. Clara Popor James-Hoff, brothers, Philip Z. Hoff Sr., Rev. Dr. Advertus Hoff Sr., Rev. William H. Hoff, L. Jenkins Hoff Sr., and sisters, Rev. Nancy H. Jones, Emily H. Freeman and Stephenetta H. Peal.

Bigma leaves to mourn her loss and celebrate her life, her surviving daughters, Magdalene T. Reeves, Clarissa Cox, Emily H. Baker, Adaline T. Major, and Stephenetta S. Fawaz, her brother, Dr. William S. Hoff Jr., grand children, great grandchildren, nieces, grand nieces, nephews, grand nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

Bigma, Ma, Darling Aunty, Aunty Awun, Aunty Adaline, Teta-B, and Sister as she was called, took up teaching in Grand Cape Mount from the Teacher’s Training Institute in Liberia. After two years of training, she taught in several schools in Robertsport. Her specialty was teaching younger children, thereby giving them a good foundation. She spent timeless hours in the classroom disciplining and molding the minds of youngstudents. Years later, she enrolled in the B. W. Harris School where she graduated and was employed by the MCSS system in Monrovia where she taught at the Daniel E. Howard School for many years. She was also a poet and woman who loved the Lord.

May Bigma's blessed soul rest in perfect peace and may light perpetually shine upon her.

Memorial services will be held in Liberia and the United States.
